Baby Roman is Born

Baby Roman Asher Marriott was born on 12/20/2010.  He was 2 weeks early and 8 lbs. 3 oz. 19.5 inches.  Needless to say that this last week has been pretty busy with Christmas coming and the new baby.  Gabey loves his new brother and is teaching him all sorts of tricks.  I must say it is harder going from 1 to 2 kids than from 0 to 1 but Baby Roman is so sweet and we are very happy he is healthy and strong.  Here are some pictures of the 2 boys on Christmas Night.

Don't call it a comeback, we've been here for years!

That is probably only funny to Doug.  :)  Anyway, we're back!  Since we began our six-month sabbatical from our blog, Doug had back surgery.  It was crazy for a while, but Gabey entertained his dad by sharing many many hours of Backyardigans ("Gans") and Nemo.  We are SO happy that he has moved on to shows with a plot instead of the hypnotic Baby Einstein shows of the previous 18 months.  He climbs into the bed, hands Doug the remote, makes his request and says, "Get cozy!" as he snuggles up.  We love our cozy boy!

Rach & Jim's Wedding

And it's about time! We had such a great time the weekend of the wedding. We stayed in the house in St. George with everyone and enjoyed perfect weather, shopping, Rock Band (compliments of Gabe), and tons of great food! Everything went smoothly and Rachel was absolutely gorgeous. The kids had so much fun together and Gabey loved following them around and playing with them. Sleeping Like a Baby

They say that people who can sleep like a baby usually don't have one, but this entry is a tribute to our champion sleeper, Gabey. Yet another reason why you are the best baby ever! If we ever look like we haven't slept until 9 in the morning, it won't be Gabey's fault! Thanks for the pics, Bizy!

Gabeys 1st Car

It was so fun to see Gabe find and drive around his shiny new red car. Very spoiled at age 15 months. We hope everyone has had a very Merry Christmas and wish everyone the best for the new year.

We traveled to Blanding for my Dad's 60th on Halloween and trick-or-treated with all the cousins. We had a great time! Gabey was shocked and awed by everything Halloween and didn't even seem to notice that he was wearing a costume until he got top heavy and fell over. It was great. We tried letting him walk to every door, but 15 minutes per house is not a practical use of time when the goal is getting candy.

Spooky

Every year, our good friends, Dave and Chelsea, go all out to celebrate Halloween. We love it! This year we were The Burger King, Wendy, and a monster. It was a great party with crazy costumes and great food. Thanks for a fun tradition, Gardners!

Baby Ducks

We are so lucky to have a park close by! We go almost every day and the baby loves to feed the ducks. He ends up eating most of the bread himself. We stay until he inevitably tries to jump in the pond.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Cailey gave Gabey her old cell phone a few weeks ago and he loves it! Now he can keep in touch with all his friends. We remind him often how lucky he is and how when we were his age there was no such thing as cell phones. :)

Baby Joseph

We have a sweet new nephew! He is so tiny and Gabey loves to touch his head. He was a pound less than Gabey was at birth and the difference is huge! I remember thinking, "He can't be a newborn, he's huge!" when the doctor handed Gabey to me. Joseph is so tiny and cozy. Congrats, John and Amanda!

Gabeys 1st Birthday Party

Happiness is a Blue Plastic Swing

We took the baby to the park a few days ago and introduced him to swinging. He loved it! He thought it was the greatest thing in the world. We went again this morning and fed the ducks and saw a duck laying some eggs under a bush. Gabey thinks the park is the greatest place in the world!

Sundance May 2008

The family took a trip to Sundance in May of 2008. Gabey was the coolest kid out there with his sunglasses. He loved watching the water and being outside. The dogs were pretty entertaining for him as well. On the way back he said his first word which was "Dad Da." He probably didn't know what he was saying but his dad likes to think it was for him.

First Photo Shoot

Gabey was 2 months old when we took him to have his first photo shoot. He was such a good boy, but not crazy about being photographed in his birthday suit. He peed all over his mom! We had a good laugh and thought the protest was over. A few minutes later, he pooped all over his dad!
